IBM and Kredi Kayıt Bürosu (KKB) Expand Collaboration on Data, AI and Mainframe Modernization

IBM has expanded its strategic collaboration with Kredi Kayıt Bürosu (KKB), a key player in Türkiye’s financial ecosystem, with its trusted data-sharing capabilities and technology infrastructure, across data management, artificial intelligence and mainframe modernization. Under the new agreement, KKB is strengthening its enterprise data infrastructure and critical mainframe environment while developing relevant solutions by leveraging IBM watsonx in line with its generative AI strategy.
IBM’s mainframe solutions are enabling progress across several areas of the company’s modernization program. These include accelerated software development processes, and enhanced operational visibility, performance monitoring and database management capabilities. These improvements are helping to strengthen the security and efficiency of KKB’s critical financial systems across both mainframe and open systems environments.
KKB also continues to advance its API integration capabilities in collaboration with IBM. Upon completion of the technology transformation project, the aim is to enable more effective integration across different systems, achieve the capacity to support more than 8.5 billion transactions annually, and further improve operational efficiency.
"Trusted data and a resilient technology foundation are essential for organizations to realize the full value of generative AI," said Işıl Kılınç Gürtuna, General Manager, IBM Türkiye. "Through our collaboration with KKB, IBM watsonx and IBM Z technologies are helping accelerate the organization's AI transformation while strengthening the security and efficiency of its mission-critical financial operations. We remain committed to helping organizations adopt AI in a trusted, scalable and responsible way."
Abdullah Bilgin, Deputy General Manager of Information Technologies and R&D at Kredi Kayıt Bürosu, said:
“At KKB, we view our technology investments not simply as projects designed to address today’s needs, but as an important part of preparing for the financial ecosystem of the future. For the technology infrastructure underpinning a critical financial platform that manages more than 8.5 billion transactions annually, high performance, uninterrupted service, security and scalability are essential priorities.
As we expand our long-standing collaboration with IBM across data, artificial intelligence and mainframe modernization, our primary goal is to further strengthen our robust and trusted technology infrastructure with next-generation capabilities. Through the modernization of our mainframe environment, we are accelerating software development processes, improving operational visibility and performance management, and building a more agile and effective integration structure across different platforms through our API capabilities.
We also see artificial intelligence as an important component of this transformation. We approach emerging technologies, particularly generative AI, through secure and sustainable use cases that deliver tangible business value. Looking ahead, we aim to combine the power of data with AI more effectively to further improve operational efficiency, support the productivity of our technology teams and increase the value KKB delivers to the financial ecosystem.”
